Description
No marks or inscriptions. No creasing to covers or to spine. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, minor traces of storage and no bumping to corners. 144pp. The construction of the engineering wonder of the American Southwest in 1931-1935 - the 726 foot high Hoover Dam on the Colorado River. The material is taken from five booklets which Compressed Air Magazine published over the construction period to give its readers a progressive account of the work. Also includes details of the railroad system, the gravel-treating and concrete-mixing plants, the cofferdams, the aerial cableways, the penstocks and how the concrete was poured and cooled. Very well illustrated.
