Original full green, pebbled cloth with gilt title on front board and spine. = The rare supplement, published during WWII, of a much more common work published in 1929. Felix Andries Vening Meinesz (1887-1966) ".was a Dutch geophysicist and geodesist. He is known for his invention of a precise method for measuring gravity (gravimetry). Thanks to his invention, it became possible to measure gravity at sea, which led him to the discovery of gravity anomalies above the ocean floor. He later attributed these anomalies to continental drift." (Wikipedia). He was a Fellow of the Royal Society.Uncut. Small stamp of a former private owner in the top margin of the front free endpaperrecto, otherwise excellent. The boards without any sign of wear.
