Description
(Oblong) 8vo. Altogether (1+1 =) 2 pp. on 2 fol. Each with autogr. address and a fine watercolor. Interesting documents from the China campaign on the occasion of the Boxer Uprising (aka Righteous Harmony Society Movement). The author reports to his cousin in Munich about the advance of the troops and various military operations, especially those in Tshang-cheng in March 1901, illustrating the battle in the mountains near the city. The other map shows the city walls of Beijing, represented "by a German painter." - Small damages to edges, slight kink fold and slightly browned.
