First Edition. 8vo, publisher's original bright blue cloth, with gilt laurel leaves on the upper cover in gilt within a blind embossed series of panels, the spine gilt lettered with blind embossed rules; in the original colour pictorially decorated dustjacket. 452 pp. A handsome and well preserved copy, the text is quite fine, clean, and fresh, the cloth bright with vivid gilt, essentially without wear but with a little mellowing to the colour at the head of the spine. The jacket is uncommon and is also well preserved, just a touch of fading at the spine panel and with some expected edgewear, a few closed tears have been neatly repaired on the verso.
