8vo., First Edition, with a frontispiece, 70 plates on 34 and a large folding map; original terracotta cloth, gilt back, backstrip mildly faded (but all gilt wholly legible), edges lightly spotted, a very good, clean copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter chipped with minor loss (not affecting lettering) at head of backstrip. With personal bookplate on front paste-down. The 'auto' in question is a 18HP Wolseley; the route travelled is from France to South Africa via Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, the Sudan and so down through East Africa to Durban. SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION
