8vo., First Edition, short marginal tear in half-title, bright foxing on first twenty leaves, occasional spotting (mainly marginal) therafter; original green cloth, upper board blocked and lettered in black, gilt back, yellow endpapers, uncut, joints lightly rubbed, backstrip slightly sunned else a very good, bright copy and a fine example of the period binding. With 6pp publisher's catalogue bound in at end. SCARCE. This is the last of Jefferies' early novels and was not reissued until 1947. Miller & Matthews B11.1 binding variant (a); Sadleir 1308.
