With a colour frontispiece and pictorial endpapers printed in brown. 8vo, publisher's original maroon cloth, the upper cover with a large colour pictorial pastedown, with lettering on the spine. [ii], 395 pp. A good copy, internally clean, a tear to the inner edge of the frontispiece does not affect the colour image, the binding slightly shaken, the pictorial endpapers well preserved, the binding lightly rubbed, the spine lettering faded.
Edizione: a lovely early 20th century children's book. heidi remains a beloved favorite. the artist of the frontispiece and pastedown is uncredited, but the style resembles that of jesse willcox smith or mabel attwell. during this period donohue and co. typically used in-house artists but copied the works of better known artists.
