Roy. 8vo., Best Edition, with a coloured frontispiece, 4 fine coloured plates, 15 monochrome plates and numerous illustrations in the text, neat contemporary signature on half-title, wanting front free endpaper; ribbed cloth, gilt back, gilt top, UNCUT AND LARGELY UNOPENED, covers slightly rubbed, crease in lower board with corresponding short split in lower joint, else a very good, sound, clean copy. The first edition of this important avifauna appeared in 1928 and was quicly out-of-print. This new edition is materially enlarged and updated. Tate (1985), p.65
