Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn or creased with rubbing to upper and lower rear fore-edges and tiny nick to spine foot. 271pp. A wide-ranging study of astronomical discovery and the means to it. The three sections of the book are 'Ancient Cosmology' which includes Neolithic astronomy and early observations, the 'Era of Discovery' - Copernicus, Brahe, Kepler, Newton and Herschel and finally 'The Exploding Universe' which traces the acceleration of astronomical discovery since Einstein and Quantum Theory.
