16mo., First Edition, with a coloured frontispiece and 15 charming full-page coloured illustrations by Wain in the text, child's crayon-mark (not obscuring text) and closed tear (without material loss) on G2; original decorative cloth, coloured illustration (repeated in text) mounted in frame on upper board, covers lightly age-faded else a remarkably clean, tight copy housed in a custom-made buckram solander case lettered in gilt. With the early twentieth-century trade ticket of Goulden of Canterbury on front paste-down. A splendid example of Wain's delightful cat illustrations. A rare survival.
