Description

No marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn or creased. 285pp. The story of the expedition by HMS Challenger in 1872 on perhaps the greatest oceanographic mission of all time to gather evidence to support Darwin's new theory of evolution. It was a resounding success as it dredged up thousands of samples from the sea bed and mapped the areas at the same time.
