Description
Incisione in rame, di mm 395x510. Bellissima "carte a figures", di antica coloritura, con decorativa bordura ornamentale composta da otto figure in costume ai lati e sei vedute di città in alto. Speed (1552-1629) fu autore del Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine a cui accompagnò nel 1627 A Prospect of the most famous parts of the world, che divenne il primo atlante mondiale prodotto in Inghilterra dove in precedenza erano stati pubblicati solo atlanti relativi all'isola.<BR>Esemplare perfetto, con rinforzo alla giuntura dei fogli e all'estremità inferiore della stessa.
