Acquaforte, 1595 circa, siglata in lastra in basso destra col monogramma HW e un grappolo d’uva. Stato unico.Bellissima impressione, stampata su sottile carta vergellata con filigrana "Stemma" (Briquet, 2177). Applicata a supporto di carta riquadrato a penna. Il foglio è assottigliato in alcuni punti, presenta una piccola mancanza nel margine inferiore, per il resto in buono stato di conservazione. Al verso, sul supporto l'annotazione a penna «Riggall Colln Sale June 6th, 7th & 8th 1901 Lot 326.Secondo Nagler il soggetto potrebbe essere da Friedrich Sustris o da Christoph von Schwarz, quest’ultima derivazione è, invece, esclusa da Geissler. Han Weiner, pittore e incisore tedesco, giocando col suo cognome, che contiene la parola Wein, vino, siglava le sue opere con un grappolo d’uva. La sua produzione grafica è limitata a soli tre soggetti.Opera di estrema rarità. Etching, circa 1595, signed with the monogram 'HW' and a bunch of grapes at lower right. On the back, an ownership inscription Riggall Colln Sale June 6th, 7th & 8th 1901 Lot 326»Nagler suggested that the print was after a painting or design by Friedrich Sustris or Christoph Schwartz, but Geissler has rejected the suggestion after Schwartz.The work is very rare. The German painter Hans Weiner, in allusion to the genial beverage from which his name is derived, marked his works with the sign of a bunch of grapes. His graphic works is limited to three subjects.
