Silografia, 1493. Tratta dalla monumentale opera di Hartmann Schedel, Liber Cronicarum (edizione tedesca), uno “dei più straordinari lavori mai realizzati” dall’editoria del XV secolo. Gli incisori erano Michael Wolgemuth e il figliastro Wilhelm Pleydenwurff. Wolgemuth fu anche il tutore di Albrecht Dürer tra il 1486 e il 1490; recenti studi hanno dimostrato come Dürer stesso abbia collaborato alla realizzazione di quest’opera; alcuni esemplari sono, infatti, attribuiti al maestro di Norimberga. La stampa venne supervisionata dal grande stampatore Anton Koberger, le cui opere erano famose in tutta Europa. Woodcut, 1493. The engravers were Michael Wolgemuth, and his stepson Wilhelm Pleydenwurff. Wolgemuth was also the tutor of Albrecht Dürer between 1486 and 1490. Recent studies have shown that Dürer himself has contributed to the realization of this work; some works are in fact attributed to the master of Nuremberg. The printing was supervised by the big printer Anton Koberger, whose works were famous throughout Europe. Cfr.
