Description

Un cane sdraiato fuori da una cuccia a cui è incatenato; un altro cane sullo sfondo a sinistra che guarda; da una serie di quattro tavole. Acquaforte del 1630 circa, scritta in alto a sinistra: "PVH f./ Nicolus Visscher excudit". Bella impressione, stampata su carta vergata coeva, in ottimo stato di conservazione. Questa fa parte di una serie di quattro tavole raffiguranti cani e segugi, di cui due incise da Paulus van Hillegaert (Hollstein 9-10) e due da Jacob de Jonckheer (Hollstein 1-2). Furono poi pubblicate da Claes Jansz Visscher e Clement de Jonghe. Paulus van Hillegaert incise anche un'altra serie di cani, contenente otto tavole. This is one from a series of four plates showing dogs and hounds, of which two plates are engraved by Paulus van Hillegaert (Hollstein 9-10) and two by Jacob de Jonckheer (Hollstein 1-2).
