Descrizione
8vo., New Edition, on laid paper, with frontispiece and title in red and black, and etched portrait plate; handsomely bound in full dark green crushed morocco, sides with gilt frame border, back with raised bands, second and fourth compartments lettered and ruled in gilt, all other compartments tooled in gilt, gilt top, hand-made endpapers, ribbon marker, custom-made board slip-case, a most attractive copy ideal as a gift or for presentation. An elegant copy of an important study first published in 1894. This revised edition includes a newly extended bibliography by John Lane. Strang's portrait of Hardy, commissioned by Lane for the frontispiece of the original edition and present here as plate, is widely considered to be the artist's finest etching.
