The Dublin Society acquired land in north County Dublin on 25 March 1795 and thereon established the botanical garden. John White, one of the gardeners to the Dublin Society, meticulously explores the Poaceae family, which includes grasses, sedges, and rushes found across Ireland. His observations shed light on their ecological roles, adaptations, and distribution.
