8vo. 1½ pp. on bifolium. To a lady regarding an appointment, the intended date already being taken up by a promised visit to Mr Taylor in Sydenham, and with kind regards to Mr Roche: "Hélas, non. Je serai samedi à l'heure que vous m'indiquez à Sydenham chez Mr Taylor. J'ai attendu tout ce temps pour vous répondre, dans l'espoir qu'on n’aurait pas réclamé l'accomplissement et une promesse donnée bien antérieurement à votre charmante invitation, mais on vient de le faire. Je vous reservai sans une doute, quelque jour de la semaine prochaine: le samedi soir, p. e., si vous étez chez vous ce jour-là. Milles amitiés à Roche [.]". - Traces of old mounting on the verso and collector's note "presented by Mr. Roche 1851" in ink as well as another small collector's note.
