Original blindstamped green cloth with gilt title and vignettes on the spine and front board. = A very good work, not in the least because it includes species now extinct, or extinct in Great Britain and still living elsewhere. On the other hand, the genus Homo is not forgotten either. illustrated by Sir Harry himself. The author ,Sir Henry "Harry" Hamilton Johnston (1858-1927) wrote mainly about his explorations in central Africa. Fore edge untrimmed. Old dedication written on the front flyleaf, otherwise a good clean copy.
