Tervueren, Cercle zoologique Congolais [Musée royal du Congo Belge], 1924-1953. 21 volumes in 60. 4to (27.8 x 18.5 cm). Numerous pp.; b/w illustrations. In original, near uniform printed wrappers. = A well-illustrated popular-scientific periodical, dealing with animals of the Congo. Except for volumes 1, 2, 3 and 5, the issues are exactly dated on the rear wrapper. The year given on the front wrapper may deviate. Some regard it as a supplement series to Revue de zoologie et du botanique africaines or a successor of Revue de Zoologie Africaine. Towards the end, beginning with the period from WWII onwards, publication became irregular. Our set seems to be complete and comprises of the following: 1(1-3); 2(1-3,4-5); 3[1-4]; 4(1,2,3,4); 5[1-4]; 6(1,2,3,4); 7(1,2,3,4); 8(1,2,3,4); 9(1,2,3,4); 10(1,2,3,4); 11(1,2,3,4); 12(1,2,3,4); 13(1,2,3,4); 14(1,2,3,4); 15(1,2,3,4); 16(1,2,3,4); 17(1,2,3); 18(1,2,3-4); 19(1,2); 20(1,2); 21(1). This series is not mentioned in the Series catalogue of BM(NH). Mostly uncut. A very good set. Rare.
