Three volumes, complete. A MONUMENTAL 3-VOLUME LIVRE DE PEINTRE DEVOTED TO THE CASTLES OF THE ILE-DE FRANCE, WITH 126 ETCHINGS AND ENGRAVINGS BY MANY OF THE LEADING FRENCH PRINTMAKERS OF THE 1950'S: Maurice Achener (8), Paul Baudier (8), Jean-Pierre Blanchet (4), Jacques Boullaire (3), Paul-Adrien Bouroux (8), Robert Cami (6), Henry Cheffer (4), René Cottet (13), Albert Decaris (11), Francis Domenget (4), Camille Josso (10), Maxime Juan (3), Pierre-Paul Lemagny (10), Aymar de Lézardière (9), madame Mackain-Langlois (10), Pierre-Yves Trémois (4), André Vahl (11). From a total edition of 135 numbered copies, all printed on fine Rives wove paper, THIS COPY WAS PRINTED FOR PAUL-ADRIEN BOUROUX, one of the artists who contributed etchings to the project, who added numerous signed drawings and working proofs to this copy. For the Chateau de Villarceaux (volume I, with four etchings), Bouroux added 2 unique working proofs for the first etching, 2 unique working proofs for the second etching, a unique working proof for the third etching, and the original drawing and a working proof for the fourth etching. For the chateau de Nantouillet (volume II, with four etchings), Bouroux added a wash and ink drawing and a working proof for the first etching, a working proof for the second etching, 2 working proofs for the third etching, and a working proof for the fourth etching. This set also includes an extra etching by Achener with a signed presentation inscription to Bouroux and ALL OF THE MENUS OF THE SOCIÉTÉ DE SAINT-ELOY FROM 1957 TO 1961 AT WHICH THE VOLUMES OF THIS WORK WERE PRESENTED TO THE MEMBERS (5 menus in all, each illustrated with an original print). The menu for March 1957 is illustrated with an original drypoint by Trémois and accompanied by an autograph letter from Trémois to Bouroux, signed by Trémois. The menu from January 1961 is illustrated with an etching by Bouroux, and is accompanied by the original drawing and two working proofs. Large 4tos. Loose as issued in original wraps. FINE AND BRIGHT, WITH NO DEFECTS. House in the original (and lightly worn) board slipcases. A UNIQUE COPY OF A RARE AND LOVELY SET.
