Original boards with printed label on the spine. = Early volume of Denmark's leading scientific journal in the first half of the 19th century. Includes the icthyologiske bidrag til den grönlandske fauna and the Tillaeg til det förste bidrag til den grönlandske fauna.Both are rare and early contributions to the fish (and bird) fauna of Greenland, dealing with the taxonomy and zoogeography, with a few supplements. Despite the title, some 15 pp. are devoted to the birds observed, and of the eight engraved plates, three show birds, including an unidentified one, and four show fish. The author is Johannes Christopher Hagemann Reinhardt (1776-1845), not to be confused by two other, contemporary, ichthyologists named Reinhardt. The volume contains several more contributions, including one on Crustacea by Kröyer, titled "Grönlands amfipoder", and another one, on molluscs by Eschricht, "Anatomiske undersögler over Clione borealis".
