Paperback. Roy. 8vo. (24 x 17 cm). In Turkish and English. [viii], 63 p., bibliography. Distributional catalogue of Turkish Elateridae (Insecta: Coleoptera) fauna. [With] Taxonomical index.= Türkiye Elateridae (Insecta: Coleoptera) faunasinin dagilim katalogu. Taksonomik dizin ile. "Our knowledge on the species of Elateridae (Insecta: Coleoptera) existing within the fauna of Turkey goes back to the 19th century and has reached to our present day at an increasing rate. When publications were studied, it is seen that the collected material obtained on the long or short period expeditions realised on different parts of Turkey reflects the above mentioned data. Among the significant catalogues Heyden at al. (1906), Sahlberg (1912-1913), Winkler (1924-1932) and Schenkling (1925-1927) may be counted. There has been a considerable increase in the number of the known species in Turkey in connection with the increase of the studies realized especially after 1970's. In the last 20 years, it is known that more than 35 species in Turkey has been originally described to the world of science. The updating of this catalogue at certain intervals reflecting the distribution of 433 species/subspecies belonging to 66 genera existing in total 10 subfamilies in Turkey at the end of 2009 has been aimed.".
