Uniform printed wrappers (text) and printed boards (atlas portfolio). = A finely illustrated paper, written by the German zoologist, malacologist and palaeontologist Achilles Andreae (1859-1905), depicting fossil freshwater molluscs, but also marine species, as well as mammalian teeth and bones, and some plant remains. Five plates show Foraminifera. Many species are new. This work seems to be connected to the author's thesis, "Beitrag zur Kenntnis des Elsässer Tertiärs. Teil 2:. Die Oligocänschichten im Elsass. Abhandlung zur Erlangung der venia legendi an der Universität Heidelberg" (1884), but the latter publication is said to have only nine plates. This is Abhandlungen zur geologischen Specialkarte von Elsass-Lothringen. Band II, Heft III. Spine cover of the text perished, partly split due to the weak binding, otherwise very good, clean. Rare.
