The private coin collection of the Yapi Kredi Bank that was initiated in 1953 reached a number of 55,000 coins by early 1994. The collection has a large group of Islamic coins which have already been published. This is the first publication on the coins of antiquity of the collection and covers 1105 coins in good condition, including the Kandira Hoard. An introduction on numismatics is followed by the catalogue and an evaluation. The appendices cover the Kandira Hoard (comprising 112 Hellenistic silver coins from Byzantion and Chalcedon), the legends and monograms on the Greek coins, the legends on the Roman coins and a concordance table. The Greek coins (a total of 515 ea.) of the collection come from Hellas, Macedonia, Thrace, Bithynia, Mysia, Troad, Aiolis, Lydia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Pisidia, Galatia, Paphlagonia, Pontos, Cappadocia, Cilicia, Syria, Commagene, Phoenicia and Mesopotamia. The Roman coins (a total of 478 ea.) come from the republic period and the imperial period until the reign of Zeno.
