8vo., First Edition, endpapers lightly browned; original yellow cloth, upper board and backstrip lettered in blue, a near fine copy in fragmentary dustwrapper, the latter wanting upper part of backstrip and all of rear panel. A PRESENTATION COPY FROM THE AUTHOR TO HIS MOTHER, WITH HIS SIGNED HOLOGRAPH INSCRIPTION ON FRONT FREE ENDPAPER. The author's fourth book, published shortly after his departure from the RNVR. In these poems, detailing sights and sounds of the English countryside, are clearly visible the affection and nostalgia which later made him famous as the creator of the 'Country Talk' series.
