Al colophon, dentro ovale, un giglio fiorentino con due putti alla base poggia su un basamento; in basso iniziale F e motto: Nil candidius. Ritratto calcografico dell'autore datato. Iniziali e fregi xilografati. Elegante legatura in piena pelle con riquadri dorati, caratteri e gigli dorati al dorso. Riquadro con fregi dorati lungo tutta l'unghia dei piatti e contropiatti rivestiti di carta marmorizzata. Copia dedicata come omaggio al prof. Giovanni Getto, insigne titolare della Cattedra di Letteratura italiana all'Università di Torino, e critico letterario, precedentemente nella biblioteca dell'abate Luigi Razzolini, erudito e bibliografo di una certa fama. Prima edizione, stampata dopo la morte dell'Alamanni, a cura del figlio Giovan Battista, il cui nome figura nella prefazione. L'Avarchide è un grande poema epico, che si ispira nella struttura alle opere omeriche, mentre nell'argomento ai grandi romanzi di gesta francesi: vi si narrano le gesta di Lancillotto, famoso eroe del ciclo di Re Artù. In the colophon, inside an oval, a Florentine lily with two cherubs at the base rests on a pedestal; initial F and motto at the bottom: Nil candidius. Dated engraved portrait of the author. Woodcut initials and friezes. Elegant full leather binding with gilt squares, gilt lettering and lilies on the spine. Square with gilt friezes along the entire edge of the covers and endpapers covered with marbled paper. Copy dedicated as a tribute to Prof. Giovanni Getto, distinguished holder of the Chair of Italian Literature at the University of Turin and literary critic, previously in the library of Abbot Luigi Razzolini, a scholar and bibliographer of some renown. First edition, printed after Alamanni's death, edited by his son Giovan Battista, whose name appears in the preface. L'Avarchide is a great epic poem, inspired in its structure by the works of Homer, while its subject matter is based on the great French romances: it recounts the exploits of Lancelot, the famous hero of the Arthurian cycle.
