It was extremely popular between the wars in both France and Germany. This copy was printed for Georges Ricou, co-director of the Opéra Comique from 1925 to 1931. BOUND IN IS RAYNAL'S ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT TREATMENT FOR THE WORK, WITH NUMEROUS CORRECTIONS AND REVISIONS. Squarish 8vo. Elegantly bound in contemporary three-quarters morocco, spine gilt.
