An attractive livre d'artiste comprising 59 plates printed on Chine applique (fine Chinese paper laid down on thick Arches wove paper). The artist has elegantly engraved BOTH TEXT AND ILLUSTRATIONS (with drypoint, burin, and etching), printed them (in color, a la poupee), and heightened the capital letters by hand (gouache and gilt). Edition limited to 220 numbered copies. SIGNED by the artist. Folio. Loose as issued in original wraps. Some foxing, affecting the Arches backing rather than the engraved plates. A very good copy of a rare and unusual book.
