"Panoramic view of the West Lake cost Mr. Zheng Fang is the initiated pupil of the famous traditional Chinese painter Lu Yanshao, a lot of effort to finish. It took the enlarged West Lake as the theme and the Yang Gong Causeway was included in the new sightseeing zones. The painter adopted the skills of landscape painting to paint the picture. The full bright color and exquisite brushwork express the magnificence of the view of the West Lake and distinctive landscape of the scenic spots. The long-scroll brocade is a perfect combination of painting and brocade technology, and it truly represents the vivid brushstrokes and earthy color of the original painting. (From the pamphlet preserved in box). Lu Yanshao was a Chinese painter. In 1927 he followed Wang Tongyu to study poetry and calligraphy, then the Shanghai painter Feng Chaoran became Lu's advisor. In 1938 he held his exhibition for the first time. In 1955 he began to work for Chinese Painting Academy in Shanghai. His career silenced during the Cultural Revolution, until the 1970s.
