Descrizione

London, H. Bailliere, 1858. 8vo (19.0 x 12.4 cm). lxiii, 179, [iii] pp.; 13 plates of which eight in full colour. Original yellow boards with black ornaments and gilt title on the front board and spine. Brown endpapers. = A well-preserved copy of this seldom-seen work by the Scottish anatomist Robert Knox (1791-1862), with attractive moveable plates. In contrast to what is stated on the title page, only five, not eight of the coloured plates have moveable parts (as always). In this copy, the rather fragile moveable parts are all present and in a very good condition. Spine and rear board (partly) sunned; a few spots, otherwise a very good, unmarked, well-preserved copy. Cat. BM(NH) p. 999.
