About the Book:-The author has delved deep to highlight the Turkish-English phonetic pronunciation, grammar and enlarged vocabularies and phrases so that anybody could acquire this language without any difficulties. For many years European and Ottoman Turkish linguists, as well as many Ottoman Turkish grammarians, who had applied themselves to the close study of this language, were firmly under the impression that its harmony and fluidity was in a large measure due to the presence of Persian and Arabic words, and to the introduction of grammatical forms identified with these languages, and it was generally feared that if these were eliminated a purely Turkish language would severely suffer by the loss of these peculiar characteristics. The writer is pleased to publish a book of this class at a most propitious time, when Turkey is today standing side by side with the Allies, and it is essential that a means should be available whereby her language may be thoroughly and easily learnt, in order to appreciate better her ideals.
