This still invaluable chronicle of the city of Zurich, started in 1704 by Hans Heinrich Bluntschli. In his present continuation, Friedrich Vogel (1804-1855) deals with the revolutionary period from 1819 to 1840, in a series of alphabetically arranged articles, offering a wealth of historical and statistical material. The decorative views show Uster, Sitzberg near Turbental, the "Münsterbrücke" in Zurich, the church of Neumünster, and the new post office. - Some spotting as usual, 2 bookplates. - Lonchamp 3159; Barth 18233.
