Cambridge, MA, The Museum of Comparative Zoölogy, 1919. Large 4to (30.2 x25.7 cm). 514 pp.; 80 plates with explanatory text leaves. Contemporary uniform brown buckram with gilt title on the spines. Original printed wrappers bound in. = A massive, finely-illustrated monograph on diverse marine worms which includes extensive descriptions and new species. It includes the results of three surveys and dredging operations by the U.S. Navy in the late 19th and early 20th century in the Eastern Pacific. This is the Museum's Memoir volume XLVIII, published in two parts: text, and atlas. These Memoirs are usually quite rare - and this volume is no exception. Pictorial bookplate on the front pastedowns, perforated stamp on Memoir title in text volume, small stamp on the plate versos; the plates (rectos) clean. A very good copy. Nissen ZBI, 4681.
