A stunning photobook / portfolio with Victor Hugo's memorable evocation of Notre Dame (from "Notre Dame de Paris", known in English as "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"); NINE ASTONISHING POLYMER PHOTOGRAPHS BY ANDREAS LANG (the first one signed by the artist), also evoking the mysteries of Paris and its cathedral; and a signed etched portrait of Victor Hugo by Joan Barbarà, an accomplished printmaker who often collaborated with Miró. Edition limited to 50 numbered copies printed on extremely fine wove paper, of which THIS IS COPY NUMBER 1, SIGNED BY LANG below the justification / colophon. Oblong large folio (40 x 52 cm). Loose as issued in original wraps. Housed in a solander case. (While every copy was supposed to be housed in a similar case, only a few were actually produced.) Very rare and beautiful.
