Descrizione

Leiden, E. J. Brill, 1890. Large 8vo (28.0 x 19.0 cm). 158 pp.; 13 plates of which several chromolithographed and one tinted. Original printed wrappers. = Rare complete first part (of two) of the first volume with several important contributions to the zoology of the Malayan archipelago. The most important, perhaps, on the mammals of the Malayan Archipelago with, in the second part, the inclusion of several new species - including a bat and a squirrel - which are all finely illustrated. It also contains the general introduction to the expedition with two maps. Other papers deal with new, brightly coloured Planaria (by J. C. C. Loman), with Thysanura (by J. T. Oudemans), and with some other groups. Well-illustrated. A good, clean copy.
