The Illustrated Junior Library edition. Impressively illustrated by Rafaello Bussoni with ten plates in full colour and numerous black and white steel-cuts throughout. Tall 8vo, in the publisher's original decorated cloth featuring an all-over full colour illustration wrapping around both covers and the spine, the spine features a blue label simulating morocco, gilt lettered and decorated in a cock-and-lion motif, in the original clear acetate dustjacket lettered on the upper panel in white. [vi], 479 pp. A fine copy but for the lightest of mellowing in a very mildly toned but complete acetate jacket with some fading to the white lettering but no wear, tears, or splitting at all. The book itself shows virtually no wear, which is uncommon for such a popular children's edition.

Edizione: an excellent illustrated edition of this timeless dickens' classic. this beloved grosset and dunlap series of books provided an unbeatable combination of fine colourplate illustration, near-private-press-quality printing and especially bright and appealing decorated cloth at an affordable price.<br> rafaello bussoni's wonderful illustrations capture with continental flair the french revolutionary setting of dickens' story of sacrifice, resurrection, and injustice. a tale of two cities remains one of the most popular books of all time.
