Gilt title on the spine. = Perhaps the first geological-mineralogical reference work, written by the German geologist Christian Keferstein (1784-1866) with much information on contemporary and earlier, often obscure, geological works and writers. Part of spine cover perished, cancelled stamps of a mining library on the front free endpaper verso and title page, a few light spots, otherwise a good clean copy. Strangely, not in Ward and Carozzi. Rare.
