Descrizione
Small folio (222 x 280 mm). 32 pp. of bicolumns in English and Arabic. Colour photographic illustrations throughout. Original printed wrappers. Stapled. 1966 issue of "Istirad li-amal Sharikat al-Zayt al-Arabiyah al-Amrikiyah", printed in Arabic and English throughout. Profusely illustrated, this annual journal issued by Aramco reported on the year's work and activities in the form of essays and statistical figures. In 1966 Aramco's crude oil production averaged 2.3 million barrels a day, exceeding that of 1965 by 18 per cent. The offshore Abu Sa'fah and Manifa fields and the northward extension of the onshore Qatif field entered production. Aramco continued to carry out extensive exploratory work in the Rub' al-Kahli desert, including the drilling of several wildcats, one at Kadan in the northeastern Rub' al-Kahli where "bulldozers worked more than two months to establish a trail through one of the most rugged corridors of unpatterned and upredictable sand dunes in Saudi Arabia". - Extremities slightly worn. Interior very well preserved. - Cf. OCLC 1034549718.
