Cloth portofolio and text in h. cloth with marbled boards. = The text is a pretty good photocopy and the Atlas is a good reproduction printed by the Scottish Academic Press in association with the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Geological Society of London. Now rare and out of print and a must for understanding his theory of the earth! We have added 1) James Hutton & Joseph Black - Biographies by John Playfair and Adam Ferguson, from Volume V of Transactions of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 1805 Published by the RSE Scotland Foundation (1997) and 2) The 1785 Abstract of James Hutton's Theory of the Earth, Edinburgh University Library 1997, with an Introduction by G.Y. Craig. These two items are nice ofcourse but simply added to the more important Atlas of the "Lost Drawings" that were found over 200 years after the printed text and published here for the first time.
