MANIFESTOPrima edizione nella seconda e definitiva tiratura.Eccellente esemplare, freschissimo e pulito (da segnalare per estrema pignoleria una lieve traccia di urto sul bordo esterno delle pagine, appena percepibile solo al verso).Seconda e definitiva tiratura del «Manifesto dei pittori futuristi», atto di nascita del gruppo artistico del futurismo. In questa tiratura il gruppo dei cinque artisti è aggiornato con le firme di Gino Severini e Giacomo Balla, che entrano in sostituzione dei due membri originari, Romolo Romani e Aroldo Bonzagni, i quali lasciarono il gruppo uno dopo l’altro tra marzo e maggio 1910. Rispetto alla prima tiratura, stampata senza data agli inizi del marzo 1910 e con le due firme poi dimissionarie, viene cassata la frase «Noi non invochiamo certo la materiale distruzione dei musei, come grossolanamente capirono gli stupidi detrattori del futurismo [.]», sostituita da «[religione del passato] alimentata dall’esistenza nefasta dei musei». «Romolo Romani and Arolodo Bonzagni, one after another, left the group between March and May 1910, to be replaced, respectively, by Gino Severini and Giacomo Balla. Consequently, Marinetti ordered a reprint of the “Manifesto dei pittori futuristi” with the names of the signatories revised. He used the same plates as in the first printing, except for a major interpolation at the beginning of the text, a few other minor changes here and there, and the bottom lines of the last page with the new names in the — now definitive — quintet of the Futurist Painters. Furthermore, the “Redazione di Poesia” became “Uffici di Poesia”, and the date “11 February 1910” was added at the foot of the last page. Contrary to what is asserted in all the studies on the subject, this updated reprint of the manifesto leaflet did not coincide with the actual changes in the composition of the group.
