With the trade ticket of Roffey and Clark of Croydon on front paste-down. Published in Stock's 'Popular County History' series, arguably the best of all the single-volume county histories. Well-written with considerable detail and a select bibliography of the county, this so-called 'cheap' edition is nevertheless an unabridged version of the original edition of 1900.
