Ragusa and the Hill of Ibla proposes a long and varied walk, starting from Ragusa Superiore and ending in Ibla, the medieval and late gothic town, to discover, in particular but not only, the eighteen monuments declared World Heritage by Unesco Ragusa, the chief city of Italy's southernmost province, in latitude even farther south than Tunis, has archaic origins and a very long history spanning numerous dominations: Greek (735 B.C.-241 B.C.), Roman (241 B.C.-476 AD), Germanic (476-535) Byzantine (535-827), Arab (827-1071), Norman (1071-1194), Swabian (1194-1266), Angevin (1266-1282), Aragonese (1282-1516), Spanish (1516-1713), Piedmontese (1713-1720), Austrian (1720-1735), Bourbon (1735-1860).
