New York, NY, American Museum of Natural History, 1955. Large 8vo (27.0 x 17.6 cm). 210 pp., 30 plates with explanatory text. Original printed wrappers. = Describing a rich and varied fauna. Written by the Austria born American malacologist Otto Henry Haas (1887-1976) and published in the Museum's Bulletin. Inscribed in the front wrapper top margin by (or for) the American geologist and malacologist John Wyatt Durham (1907-1996) above a tiny stamp: compliments of the author. On the half-title, in a different hand - perhaps that of Durham -, Oxfordien / Lower Malm, precising the Mount Hermon stratigraphy. Short title hand-written in the spine top; very slight shelf wear, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
