12mo. 252 pp. With engraved frontispiece and two headpieces. Contemporary blindstamped calf. A rare edition of this popular 18th century devotional, including various prayers, hymns of praise, litanies and other liturgical texts. One of two variant editions issued by Kessler, all undated but probably around 1775. Neither Keßler edition features the engraved plates found in other editions. The frontispiece shows the crucifix of Emperor Ferdinand II and is signed by A. Dischler. Two confirmations of confessions from Easter 1852 are loosely enclosed. - Paper evenly browned, brownstained throughout, lower corner of pp. 59f. torn off, causing some loss of text.
