Illustrated throughout in black and white. 8vo, original mustard cloth, lettered and framed on the upper cover and spine in brown, endpapers with tables of weights, measurements, temperatures, and substitutions. xii, 831, [30 ads] pp. An honest and well preserved copy of this American classic, much better condition than what is typically found for old cookbooks. The text solid and clean, with just a bit of toning associated with paper of the era, the binding firm but with the light mustard cloth a bit soiled and mellowed.
Edizione: the most famous american cook book, and this is a nice copy of the new revised edition. fanny farmer was noted for a new approach to recipe writing, following an almost scientific set of instructions, "it is my wish that it may not only be looked upon as a compilation of tried and tested recipes, but that it may awaken an interest through its condensed scientific knowledge which will lead to deeper thought and broader study of what to eat."
