331pp VG/none First edition (published in Britain by Constable) original editorial green cloth with blind lettering on spine, boards with light sign of wear and spine darkened with trasversal red strip at the lower part, ownership stamp on endpapers otherwise a very good copy, clean inside and printed on quality paper. An interesting association copy, from the library of Prof. E L Bowles, pioneer of Radar in WW2 and MIT professor. Probably the most comprehensive early work on selenium cells, covering the early history, physical and electrical properties and applications like light telephony and television, with extensive bibliographical notes at the end of each chapter. George P Barnard was of the Electrical Department at the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, England. Heavy book with extra P&P charges.
