Large 8vo, publisher's original black cloth, pictorially decorated and lettered in gilt on the upper cover and lettered in gilt on the spine, in the original white paper printed dustjacket featuring Peter Hurd illustrations on the spine and front cover. xi, 366 pp. A very good and handsome copy, the black cloth rich and unfaded with bright gilt, hinges solid, the text toned a bit to ivory as depression era paper is prone but otherwise clean and well preserved, the scarce jacket with edge-wear and a little chipping and some general age to the white paper.
