Dust jacket not price clipped or marked with two tiny nicks and very light creasing to upper edge. Protected in a removable plastic sleeve. 299pp. The first full-length study of the work and life of one of the few American writers born around the start of the twentieth century whose reputation has been undiminished. His first novel, The Bridge of San Luis Rey catapulted him to fame in 1927 and he remained in the literary limelight ever since.
