Descrizione

About the Book: - This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. The three volumes contain the narrative of author’s Voyage on the Indus, and subsequent Journey into Bokhara. He has narrated the journey into the first two volumes, from its interest being, perhaps, greater than that of the Voyage; and since the two subjects, though part of a whole, are distinct from each other. Excerpt from Travels into Bokhara; being the account of a journey from India to Cabool, Tartary and Persia, Vol. 2 of 3: Also, Narrative of a Voyage on the Indus, From the Sea to Lahore, with presents from the King of Great Britain; performed under the orders of the Supreme Government of India, in the ears 1831, 1832, and 1833. The principal object of author’s journey was to trace the course of Indus; which had only been crossed at particular points by former travelers, and had never been surveyed but between Tatta and Hydrabad. The hazardous nature of the expedition, and the mode in which it could be best accomplished required consideration. The subject of the book is very delicate. There is no statement in the book to which exception may justify be taken. So, the book is beneficial for readers and historians.
